Design Centre Signing Ceremony
On the 11th March supporters of Loughborough University attended a special event to celebrate the beginning of a new era in Design Education at Loughborough.
The afternoon included a presentation from Professor Tony Hodgson, Dean of the new Loughborough Design School. Tony explained how Loughborough is developing its teaching and research programmes to ensure we remain a world leading centre for Design and how the new building will provide world class facilities to support this.
Andrew Wilson, Contracts Manager at Shepherd Construction gave an insight into the challenges faced by our building contractors in realising the vision for the new Design Centre.
Following the presentations guests were invited to sign a piece of panelling that was then incorporated into the new building.
The Signing Ceremony allowed alumni and friends of the University to leave a very personal mark on the new Design Centre building and is a symbol of alumni support for the future of Design Education at Loughborough.
