     On Thursday 15th October, 2009, Lord Selkirk of Douglas hosted an evening at the House of Lords, on behalf of the Faculty of Engineering, as part of Loughborough University’s Centenary Celebrations. The House of Lords welcomed over 70 Engineering alumni and guests to the Peers’ Dining room for a drinks reception and dinner. The alumni ranged from the class of 1948 to 1995, across all the Engineering disciplines. During the evening alumni and guests heard speeches from Lord Selkirk, Professor Neil Halliwell, Professor Yiannis Vardaxoglou and Doctor Les Mustoe.
